No, this one isn’t ours, but we think she’d like to be. Meet Nani. She’s the neighbor’s kitty, who started coming around as soon as she arrived. She meowed incessantly until one of us came out to pet her. That did it. Now she meows incessantly at our front door or the screen door on the downstairs lanai until someone acknowledges her, and won’t take no for an answer.
She sometimes camps out right beside the door, ready to bolt inside as soon as we open it. She wants inside in a bad way. She picks fights with just about everything in the neighborhood and often wakes us in the middle of the night when she gets into a big, loud furball.
Widgit and Moosh used to growl at her through the screen door a lot, but that’s toned down a little. Moosh still reminds her whose territory this is, and she seems to respect that. We knew there was something seriously wrong with Widgit when she lost interest.
